This artwork depicts a bright almost metallic mask over a black silhouette representing the African girl. The title façade comes in as we see that colourful and painted exterior just hides a void when slid off. This void represents the hardship of the urban African girl child; rape, early marriage, assault, and how she hides her pain with a beautiful made up exterior. This work is executed in acrylic and the savannah sunset orange background gives it a final touch of Africa.
