Cattles and Egrets

“Cattles and egrets. Commensalism. Interactions"

He thought carefully and diligently. Every word created a clear picture in my mind.

I do not know which path to take.

"Be a doctor in genetics", he said.

I didn't realise sooner that I was already walking the path you devised sooner for my heart.

I wanted to express gratitude in the grandest of ways later,

But I couldnt see how late later was.

I failed to realise that you were wearing out

And slowly drawing to the earth.

This white and green community reminds me of you of how late I was.

The word gene stabs at my heart every time I come across it on the pages of my text.

And every time I pick a dandelion.

I wish that I was faster than your ancestors

That I thanked you sooner before the earth welcomed you.
