As a son of Africa, Tim Ochola has always digested his environment from its earthy colors to the various sounds. He is drawn to the theme of afrofuturism that imagines the African being in a mystic astrological world that depicts freedom, independence, development and a strong sense of control.
Tim works with spontaneous colors to express emotive and conservationist themes in an abstract realist style. Acrylics and oils are his favorite media, as they allow him to experiment the flow and harmony of color. For sculptures, he create using resin and found materials. His process greately involves digital sketches before proceeding to paint on canvas.
His goal is to question norms and provide a mystic lens that interrogates the future of Africa while pushing the limits of color.
