Ladouce Nadabha is a multidisciplinary artist based in Nairobi, Kenya; specialising in the areas of fine art prints, illustration and original canvas works. Coming from an established background in calligraphy and pencil art, Ladouce began her creative journey in 2012 as a self-taught artist , competitively earning her first creative job at just 14 years old at a calligraphy firm, and has been actively developing her practice ever since then. Ladouce uses the base of colour and human form in her work as a method of communication. She is heavily inspired by the African culture and its people as well as the Nairobi urban vibe to creatively develop her own visual language through art. Ladouce sees art itself as a language that is accessible for all. With her wall art, she creates artistic pieces offering the public the opportunity to interpret the work from their own personal perspective. Ladouce places a similar intention on her art company,The Art Cartë, a brand that curates functional handcrafted artistic products to suit one's everyday lifestyle.
She is currently the co-founder and lead artist of The Art Cartë and a member of the notable Milan Art Club. Most recently, Ladouce won the Amplifier Art Award 2021, Little Africa Paris Artist Competition 2021, Special Prize for Mellow Art Award 2020 as well as first place at Emax Kenya 2020 Entrepreneurship Competition and highest pointscore since inception of Emax Norway, through her company,The Art Cartë. In addition The Art Cartë was featured at the notable Nairobi Design Week 2021.
