Mayowa Adekile is a native of Ilesha, Osun State, Nigeria. He started drawing at a tender age by emulating his elder brother who drew habitually then. The story of Mayowa as a Visual Artist was established on mentorship by an artist in Ilesha. He was exposed to hyper realism and detailed drawings under his mentor’s tutorship which quality shone in all his works. Although a graduate of mathematics his passion for art is as strong as ever, during his undergraduate days in Universities he was responsible for leadership of some artists associations, mentoring the young amateur artists and organizing some school exhibitions. As a visual artist, I work hard to develop drawings that speak to me and to others about the beauty that exists in the ruins of ancient stories. Part of my ambitions in life is to be a public speaker who inspires others to do better and I believe I can communicate this to my viewers through my drawings. Part of my process before and after I work on a piece of art is to get necessary information concerning the things I intend to pass to my viewers. I get motivated through reading, listening to songs and watching movies. I do not merely want to capture the image with pencils; rather with careful, colorful strokes, I want to give that society life once more.
